Launching the most beautiful and sustainable chess sets made from bamboo fibers, rice husk, and coffee husk! This is how we are celebrating the 44th World Chess Olympiad at eha.eco. Proud to say that they are completely made in India – from concept to manufacturing and final packaging.
The 44th World Chess Olympiad is hosted by India in Chennai from 28th July to 09th August 2022. The rich tradition and culture of Mahabalipuram with the iconic seaside and over 2000 players from 200 countries are decorating this occasion. This is an event ongoing since 1924 and hence has worldwide attention. Indian representation by 20 players in this tournament is a huge feat.
On this occasion, we celebrate the Olympiad and India’s contribution to this game by launching our sustainable versions of chess sets. The most commonly used materials for toys and games, including chess are plastic and wood having a negative environmental impact. Our chessman and pawns are made from biocomposites using crop residues such as bamboo fibers, rice husk, and coffee husk. They are climate-friendly as they are made with a reduced carbon footprint. They are earth-friendly as they conserve precious resources available on our planet.
Our chess sets come in two versions –
- Turtle collection that is lightweight, has an extremely low carbon footprint, and is durable for your life.
- Beetle collection that is weighted, and biodegradable with a great feel and experience as you play the game.
These chess sets are our first attempt to make beautiful, safe, and sustainable toys that are suitable for your personal use or for gifting your near and dear ones.
Let us make the right moves towards sustainability as we celebrate the most intelligent game on this 44th World Chess Olympiad. You can buy our eco-friendly chess sets on eha.eco.
